The door that I walk thru is the same,
but it's not.
Memories of the times I went in an and out
are always in my thoughts.
I like to reminisce about the times
when life wasn't so complicated,
just a happy family from suburbia
out the hood thinkin we made it.
As the wheels of life turn,
down the path of the unknown,
all the relationships you had in your grasp,
seem to grow cold and turn to stone.
Family trees are something I hold sacred,
and I know I can be distant,
but just know I'm closer than you think
and I would be there for you in an instant.
Distance is really just a matter of time
and I've been biding mine.
Stoically formulating a plan
to collect these dollar signs.
But once I get mine,
we all gon eat.
The whole family breaking bread at the table,
bein able,
to squash beef.
Sipping on a Napa cabb
wine pairings are a must have.
This rounds on me
so it's all goin on my tab!
I'm generous
so you can raise it at the bar a little bit.
But don't bite the hand that feeds you cuz,
to b so real,
I ain't never been afraid,
to tell a bitch to sit.
Another one,
another day,
in the life,
many shades of gray,
eyes are Windows for the soul
And still wide open to catch the sun rays.
That's it
I'm out of lines
I quit,
Well not yet anyway
Got a couple bags left
Save em for a rainy day
Right now it's 7:35,
which is time for me to end my day
and finally close my eyes.
and wake up to that reality
where everything's alright.
And The Door,
that I mentioned before,
remains open to shed my path some light.
but my eyes are
closed for the night!
